Refund Policy

Overview
On HungryNow, payments go directly from customers to restaurants via UPI — we don't hold funds in escrow. Refunds are therefore processed by coordinating between the customer and restaurant, with HungryNow mediating disputes and issuing binding decisions.
Order Cancellation
Before restaurant accepts
Full refund — cancel free from the order page.
After restaurant accepts, before preparation
Cancellation allowed; refund subject to restaurant discretion (typically full refund).
After preparation begins
Cancellation not allowed. Raise a dispute if there's a genuine issue.
After delivery
No cancellation. Raise a refund dispute within 24 hours if order was incorrect or missing items.
Refund Eligible
- •Order not delivered within 60 minutes of confirmed delivery time
- •Food items missing from the delivered order
- •Wrong order delivered and restaurant does not offer replacement
- •Restaurant cancelled the order after payment
- •Duplicate payment made due to technical error
Not Eligible
- •Change of mind after the restaurant has started preparing the order
- •Incorrect delivery address provided by the customer
- •Dissatisfaction with taste or spice level (subjective quality issues)
- •Delays caused by extreme weather, curfews, or government orders
- •Order delivered to the correct address but customer was unavailable
How to Request a Refund
Raise dispute
Go to the order page → tap 'Raise Dispute' within 24 hours of delivery.
Evidence review
Our team reviews photos, payment proof, and chat logs within 12 hours.
Decision
We issue a binding decision. If refund is approved, we initiate within 24 hours.
Refund
Refund credited to your UPI source account within 3–5 business days.
Restaurant Subscription Refunds
Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable once the billing cycle has started, unless HungryNow fails to complete restaurant onboarding within the agreed 2-business-day window. In that case, a full refund is issued automatically.
